What is a bnp file and how do I open a bnp file?

BNP are data files created by some Sony digital camcorders. These files are stored within the AVF_INFO directory on the camcorder, and contain metadata about recorded videos. They are used for displaying information such as the dates and number of videos recorded. If files in the AVF_INFO directory are deleted, recorded camera files will not play back correctly.
