The ODP file extension is known as OpenDocument Presentation which was created by OpenOffice.org (OOO). It was the output of OpenOffice Impress program. It is a file format includes a title slide followed by content slides. It contains layout templates and may include images, multimedia content, plus transition effects. They are used for saving lecture materials, picture slide shows, and business presentations. They are formatted using the OASIS XML-based OpenDocument standard. To open an ODP file, the computer has to install OpenOffice Suite program and it can be downloaded freely from its Website. Because ODP is similar to Microsoft PowerPoint, they can also be saved to a .PPT file. This is to make sure that user can still work with individuals who are Microsoft Office users. Aside from, conversion to .ppt, they can also be saved in Flash Animations with the .swf extension. Files in ODP format can be opened with Apache Open Office and OpenOffice.org in Mac Os, Microsoft Windows, and Linux platforms.
