What is a rmd file and how do I open a rmd file?
The RED Metadata File is stored in the RMD format and is affixed with the RMD extension, and is used by the REDCINE-X software. These RMD files are generally classified as video files that contain the editing perspective of an R3D RED video file including settings on color adjustments, sharpness and other properties. These files are used to create a good shooting baseline. To create RMD files automatically then user must check it off from the Preferences Menu or right click on the image and select” Save RMD files”. These files were formerly known as RSX files and are saved in the clip folder. The REDCINE-X software is for video editing, specifically to transcode R3D files to the most common self-contained formats like Quicktime, Avid MXF, and DPX formats. The REDCINE-X and Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 software can be used in Mac operating systems, Microsoft Windows based systems, and Linux to access and view RMD files
