What is a prm file and how do I open a prm file?
PRM files are parameter files categorized as settings files because they are files that different kinds of applications use to input data parameters. PRM files are normally saved in plain text wherein a key-value structure is used. This structure consists of a line with the name of the parameter and the value. In other words, PRM files contain parameter settings and these indicate what the user wants to be done by the program. A lot of applications using PRM files are as follows: GSAS, CodeWarrior, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system installer, IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimization Studio, Gurobi Optimizer, and P300 Classifier GUI. GSAS runs on Windows, MAC and Linux and this application refines structural models to x-ray and neutron diffraction data. The Gurobi Optimizer also runs on Windows, MAC and Linux and it is an application used for quadratic programming, mixed-integer linear programming, linear programming, quadratically constrained programming, etc.
