What is a cdw file and how do I open a cdw file?
The CDW file extension is used by KOMPAS, a 3D modelling tool and mechanical CAD system developed by ASCON. A CDW file contains CAD drawing created in the program. It is the default CAD format of KOMPAS. KOMPAS is a mechanical CAD system used for its strength and functionality in 3D and 2D design processes, an easy-to-use interface, easy to learn functions, and flexible collaboration with other software packages. KOMPAS-3D consists of a 3D parametric modeling module and KOMPAS-Graphic, the 2D design and drafting module. Integrated in the program are the BOM(Bill Of Material) assistant, the library manager and a unique 3D sheet metal part modeling component. KOMPAS-3D also has a number of additional modules such as the kinematic and dynamic analysis UM Express, a diverse animation module, a 3D-model recognition utility, a pipeline module, the APM Studio FEM, a structural steel module and several others. KOMPAS-3D was developed in Russia 1989 .CDW files can be viewed with the free KOMPAS-3D Viewer.
