What is a cfa file and how do I open a cfa file?
The CFA file extension is a data format known as Adobe Conformed Audio File. CFA files were developed by Adobe Systems. These are stored audio files that contain audio data that has been conformed to a proprietary Adobe format. They are used for improving the software's performance when processing audio data and when generating audio waveform previews. They may occupy large space in the computer since they are large files. They can be turned off using the caching option within Adobe applications preferences settings under the Media tab. In effect this would delay the processing time for audio previews. They are actually created by Adobe Media Encoder, a standalone software component that is included with Adobe programs. These files are saved in Scratch Disk location for Audio Previews in the Project Settings dialog box. Files in CFA format can be opened with Adobe Soundbooth, Adobe After Effects CS6, Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and Adobe Encore CS6 in Mac Os and Microsoft Windows based systems.
