What is a 669 file and how do I open a 669 file?
The 669 file extension is a data file format associated to the discontinued UNIS Composer 669 Module, an eight channel tracker module that uses sound samples of instruments. Files in the 669 format are similar to MOD files or Multichannel Tracker. The 669 and "Extended 669" formats were the first PC module formats. They do not possess a wide range of effects, but support up to 32 channels. "Composer 669" was written by Tran of Renaissance, known as Tomasz Pytel and released in 1992. "Unis 669 Composer" was written by Jason Nunn and released in 1994. Both Composer and UNIS used an 8 channel tracker. but Composer 669 used text mode layout and tracks DOS. Files in the 669 format can be opened with Nullsoft Winamp Media Player 5.6 in Microsoft Windows-based systems, Mac Os and Linux platforms. It is a file support used by ModPlug Tracker and Audacious Media Player.
