The CDDA file extension is a data format known as CD Digital Audio File. CDDA files are audio files ripped from a CD formatted using the CD Digital Audio specification. They are used for saving CD audio data to a computer and burning new CDs. These files were first used as specification format by “red book" that was developed by Philips and Sony in 1980. These files were used for home and car CD players. They are also associated with the Apple iTunes multimedia player and iOS devices managing application for Apple Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. These files use a sample rate of 44.1 kHz, which is approximately double the highest frequency audible by humans about 22 kHz. Files in CDDA format can be opened with Apple iTunes, Apple Logic Pro 9, and Apple Logic Express 9 in Mac systems and also Apple iTunes in Microsoft Windows based systems.
