What is an imp file and how do I open an imp file?
An Audition impulse file is an audio file integrated with encoding specifications and implemented with lossless audio data compression standards proprietary to Adobe Systems. The content of these Audition impulse Files may include waveform amplitude maps associated to the audio data stored in these Audition impulse Files, and these maps also have time signatures for easier monitoring and analysis. Convolution effects can also be added to the audio data in these files using the Adobe Audition software, a digital music development and editing program. Fade in, fade out and cross fading attributes, distortion and reverb are just some of these convolution effects that can be implemented into the audio data of these Audition impulse files, which are stored in the IMP format and are appended with the .imp extension. Audio from waveforms can be directly added to an Adobe Audition project to create an IMP file, and another way is to manually select audio configurations, settings and specifications using this program.
