What is a met file and how do I open a met file?
These are files known as eMule Resource Files as they are used by eMule. MET files are also categorized as data files containing links to perform resource and server downloads by which their functions benefit both the client and the server sides. MET files serve as meta-data archive files for clients, allowing a part of a bigger chunk file to be identified properly by third party programs. These files also serve as the provider of eMule server access to ed2k network, allowing users to post and share their files actively and even searching and downloading files from other sources. MET files also serve as storage for ed2k server information such as the filenames, hash sets, addresses, file sizes and statistics which is why they are also used by eDonkey. MET files are excellent backups and storage wherein they contain the download locations of lists and histories so users have the option to continue their downloads later.
