What is a 3me file and how do I open a 3me file?
The data stored in files with the .3me extension is a collection of elements required by the TurboTax Deluxe software to present users the tax forms they need to fill out via the GUI (Graphical User Interface) of the application. This means these 3ME files are data files containing tax form objects and text which may include comments about each tax form element and instructions that can assist users in properly filling out the tax form. These tax forms are then added to the tax return report output files generated by the application for the user. This also means 3ME files are referenced and not loaded unto the application itself by the TurboTax Deluxe program whenever the user accesses this tax form feature. Intuit developed versions of TurboTax Deluxe software that can run on Microsoft Windows-based systems as well as versions for Mac platforms. The TurboTax 2009 software for Mac-based systems stores files with the .3me extension as well as 3PE files in the directory where the software was installed, and this means these files are updated right after each TurboTax upgrade.
