What is an ecc file and how do I open an ecc file?
A DVDisaster error correction file can be used for the recovery of unreadable data stored in disks. These DVDisaster error correction files are saved in the ECC format and are affixed with the .ecc extension. The DVDisaster software uses these ECC files for storing data associated to bad sectors of corresponding DVD, CD and Blue-ray disks, since this program was developed for external disk data recovery purposes. Versions of the CD, DVD or Blue-ray disks that do not contain any error are required by the DVDisaster software to analyze and create error correction reports stored in an ECC file. The DVDisaster program can also be used to generate ECC files (for data recovery purposes) using error-free ISO images of the corresponding DVD, CD or Blue-ray disks. Linux and Mac users can install the DVDisaster software into their systems to create and open an ECC file. There is also a version of the DVDisaster program that was developed with support for computers running on Microsoft Windows-based systems.
