What is a hci file and how do I open a hci file?
The HydroCAD Stormwater Modeling System employs files in HCI format as data files. Data files are the most common type of files usually stored as basic text or in binary format which are either created by the users or installed along with a software application. HCI files are utilized by HydroCAD as IDF or Intensity-Duration-Frequency data file containing information on the expected amount of rainfall in a given period of time. IDF files in HCI format can be customized or created by hand with the use of IDF curve report feature. These files along with the subattachment area and coefficient runoff data are utilized by HydroCAD’s Rational Method to create peak flow forecasts crucial for developing computer aided design that would simulate stormwater runoff. HydroCAD Stormwater Modeling System application is a combination of SBUH, graphics, virtual routing diagram, TR-55, built-in hydraulics and TR-20 developed to provide an easy to use platform for creating and managing simple runoffs and complex drainage projects.
