What is a jasper file and how do I open a jasper file?
The JASPER file extension is used for files that are created by JasperReports. These files containing the JASPER extension are also known as JasperReports Data Files. These files contain the contents of a report saved in a binary format and compiled from a .JRXML file. When it comes to generating reports in a repeated manner, JASPER files must be deployed using Java applications. When the report data is read from a specific source of data, the reports are then, filled resulting to generated formats such as .JRPRINT, .RTF, .TXT, .HTML, .PDF, .XLS, .CSV, and .XML. The JasperReports program is known as an open source programming library wherein users can create programmatic reports in Java using this software. It runs on Windows, MAC and Linux operating systems. Aside from JasperReports, JASPER files can also be opened using Jaspersoft iReport.
