What is a nvram file and how do I open a nvram file?
The NVRAM file extension is known as VMware NVRAM File which was developed by VMWare. It is a file format used in Virtual machine (VM) small data file used by VMware virtualization software. It is saved as part of the overall set of files that comprise the architecture of the Virtual Machine. It should not be manually opened or edited, since the data is handled by the vSphere software. Files in NVRAM format can be opened with VMware Workstation 8 in Microsoft Windows and Linux platforms. It contains the saved state of the virtual machine's BIOS in a form similar to Non-Volatile RAM . Changes made to the hardware configuration of the Virtual Machine are saved in the NVRAM file. This file is in binary format and if deleted it will be automatically re-created when a Virtual Machine is powered on. NVRAM stands for Non Volatile Random Access Memory which means it retains information even when the computer is turned off.
