What is an ofc file and how do I open an ofc file?
The OFC file extension is known as Open Financial Connectivity File which was developed by Microsoft. It is a file format used for an open format for exchanging financial data with other financial programs. It was designed to accommodate the requirements of various banking and bill payment systems locally and internationally. It was supported by the Microsoft Money 5.0 for online home banking and online bill payment features. OFC files are composed of records, aggregates, and elements. OFC files must have Signon records, then Maintenance records and then Transaction records however individual records need not to be in a particular order. It was also designed based on request-response model with a Standardized General Markup Language (SGML) syntax format. Files in OFC format can be opened with Reilly Technologies Moneydance in Microsoft Windows, Mac Os and Linux platforms. It was replaced by the .ofx format in 1997 and no longer supported by MS Money 2005 or later.
