What is a pos file and how do I open a pos file?
Files affixed with the POS extension are files containing text descriptions of a position created by Trimble Navigation’s GPS devices, or Global Positioning System receivers. Trimble Navigation, a company providing advanced positioning solutions, is most noted for its GPS receivers, range finders and inertial navigation systems. A POS file contains an ID and followed by one or more locations, in longitude and latitude, per ID. It also locates efficiently by providing a list that shows the different coordinates that describe the point of source defined in a corresponding ATT file. To view files in the POS format, users may have to install the needed programs, such as My Topo POS2MXF. In the event that this program is unavailable in the user’s system, another option would have to be to convert it to another file format. Users may choose to convert it to PDF format for easier viewing.
