format file ptk

What is a ptk file and how do I open a ptk file?

Files affixed with the PTK extension are data files used by Intuit Quicken, a personal finance management application. Quicken was both a desktop and an online based, free, hosted solution that was developed to aid users in their financial liabilities and revenues. The tool enables you to balance checkbooks, track loans, liabilities, and investments. Quicken also offers features such as importing data directly from participating banks, reports on all your financial data and download daily stock and fund prices. From the simple home checkbook balancer, to the small business owner, there is a version of Quicken specifically designed for the level of need of the user. The PTK file format is considered as the earlier type of file which Quicken uses to hold financial information which is now replaced with the QIF format. PTK files were used to import data from online resources, such as banks and financial institutions, into Quicken’s database.
