What is a roi file and how do I open a roi file?

The Report Object Instance file is stored in the ROI format and is affixed with the ROI extension and is used by Actuate software. These ROI files are generally classified as data files that contain information object that can draw and integrate real-time data from several different data sources. These instance files is what the user visualizes when running or saving the report in the Siebel application or external viewer of Siebel Mobile Web Client mode. They can also be transferred to the Siebel Reports Server for long-term storage and availability since they are not saved to the Report Encyclopedia.  They can also be viewed by Web browsers and other server dependent computers or computer programs in DHTML format. These files are also known as Actuate Report Document since they can be printed from a specified printer.  The Actuate Information Object Designer can be used in in Microsoft Windows based systems to access and view ROI files.
