What is a trk file and how do I open a trk file?
A CompeGPS Land track file is integrated with data encoding specifications proprietary to CompeGPS Team, and these CompeGPS Land track files can be created with the use of the CompeGPS Land software, which was also developed by CompeGPS Team. These CompeGPS Land track files are saved in the TRK format and are appended with the .trk extension. The CompeGPS Land software is an application bundled with CompeGPS gadgets. These CompeGPS devices are also manufactured by CompeGPS Team, and the CompeGPS Land program is used as the interface that can be used when a CompeGPS device is connected and synched to a computer. Location details, configurations and settings implemented into a map entered into these CompeGPS devices are stored in a TRK file. Specific routes can be planned then integrated into these CompeGPS Land track files through the CompeGPS Land software so it can be loaded unto the user's CompeGPS device. The CompeGPS Land application can be installed through the installation disk provided along with a CompeGPS device.
